Podsumowanie Baltic+

W ramach podsumowania projekt Baltic+ nasze wypowiedzi zostały zaprezentowane na planszach wydrukowanych na konferencję końcową. Poniżej treść plakatu (po angielsku).
Tourist bicycle routes connect Poland and Germany
Mr. Michał Borun, cultural scientist born in 1978, is an entrepreneur at INCITIVE. He is working with project- and culture management and has been active in several Projects in Baltic+. He has coordinated the production of a bicycle map of technical sights in the Baltic+ region and evaluated customer demand in the initial phase of the new train connection between Szczecin and Berlin.
Mr. Borun on Baltic+
Baltic+ is an accelerant. Through our work in Baltic+ new cooperation and trust could be established quickly between Poland and Germany. Because of this project, I now have valuable contacts with scientists at the Technical University of Berlin.
In our project, we designed a route map for cyclists to technical sights in the Pomeranian region. I particularly like the fact that we could use existing routes. We put the routes in a new context and accentuated things that our cities and regions have in common. If our city decision makers have a map in their hand, they might say: “Ok, this will help us to promote our bicycle routes.”
Unfortunately many cities do not have enough resources to be more engaged with Baltic+. In most cities Baltic+ is only a peripheral activity. It is questionable that the good activities that we discussed at many meetings can be realised – especially since the decision makers were not always present.
Baltic+ has surely contributed to a regional identity, but until now mainly with the people who directly participated in the project. It is not enough to talk about a “common identity”. The important questions still are not discussed in a wider public. It is not self-evident to live and work in other countries. I have not felt that Baltic+ has contributed to such a vision.
